Firebyrds Quartet
The Firebyrds Quartet was founded by Caroline Pearsall in 2008 and is made up of two groups - one in Paris and a new one starting in London this year.
The Firebyrds specializes in tango and world music for concerts and classical and pop repertoire for functions. They are inspired by the Brodsky and Kronos String Quartets as well as a large range of genres including folk music, jazz, contemporary music and soul.
The players have come from various backgrounds. All are trained in classical music but now perform in the tango, classical, contemporary, jazz, hiphop and French chanson circuits.
Their debut was in the Paris Tango Banlieues Festival 2008. Since then they have recorded for Polydor Records, and worked with the jazz singer Victoria Rummler and Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah Sleane. They have performed at various castles, jazz clubs and concert halls in Paris such as Le Zebre, Le Reservoir, Espace Bremontier and L’Ermitage and play regularly for parties and weddings in the Hotel Crillon and Chapelle Expiatoire. The quartet recently played for Prophetik Clothing (ecological/sustainable clothing) for the Paris Fashion Week 2013. They work for the Fete En France and Oracle event agencies.
They are currently recording an album filled with world music and tango favorites.
